Dr. Ian White, member of the IDEA Supervisory Group, provides an update on the IDEA Project at the 13th Congress of the European Society of Contact Dermatitis (ESCD)

Dr. Ian White is actively involved in the IDEA Supervisory Group and has participated to several IDEA Workshops. He presented the progress and his vision for the future of the project IDEA at the 13th Congress of the European Society of Contact Dermatitis (ESCD), held in Manchester (UK) on September 14-17 (http://escd2016.com/). The ESCD Congress is a high quality forum for clinicians, scientists and members of the cosmetic and pharmaceutical companies to exchange on the current scientific and clinical aspects of contact allergy and allergic contact dermatitis.
Dr. Ian White, a past Chair of the SCCS, is a member of the Supervisory group, a small group of independent internally recognized experts, responsible for the scientific aspects of the IDEA project. He has been involved in a number of the IDEA Workshops. He will be presenting the progress of the IDEA programme and a vision of the future.
The IDEA project is a multi-stakeholder project designed to address the issue of skin allergies from fragrance ingredients. The objective is to develop a scientifically sound, robust methodology for the risk assessment of fragrances which will ensure a high level of consumer protection.
